We've taken care of providing you the best Car Audio shopping experience in the country, but when things don't go according to plan, this page will provide you an overview of our Refunds & Returns policy.
Policy Overview
In constructing our Refunds & Returns policy, Bankstown Sound, ABN 77 235 520 280 (“Us”, “We”, “Our”) have been in consultation with representatives of both the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) and NSW Department of Fair Trading to ensure the policy and process is both lawful and fair to both parties.
Essentially, our policy boils down to if you have an issue with any products purchased from us, get in contact with us as soon as possible and we will offer any and all solutions available to us to get you back on track.
Product Return Process
Should the rare, but worst, happen and you have an issue with a product you've purchased from Bankstown Sound, the policy will be the same in every case - it's outlined below.
1. Get in contact with us and let us know about the issue you're having
2. If there's something to be done, we'll get you to send the product back to us
3. We'll verify and try to replicate the same issue that you've reported
4. We'll issue either a refund or product replacement based on manufacturer advice
DOA - Dead On Arrival
A product is deemed DOA if it has a fault from factory and never worked. This is a critical fault that means no matter what is done, the product is faulty and is covered by an automatic 30-day protection policy. Whilst DOA products are very rare in today's industry, they do happen from time to time.

Regular Warranty Claim
Each product we sell is covered by the manufacturer's Australian warranty. This warranty ranges from 12-months to 3-years for some brands and situations. Please understand the manufacturers warranty on the product you're purchasing before buying.
Should something go wrong during your warranty period, please get in touch with us, fill in the Warranty and Return Request from on our Contact Us page and we'll be in contact with the details for next steps.
We'll test and try to replicate the issue you've reported and if we agree the product is faulty, and the fault was not yours, we will offer a replacement.
Change Of Mind & Exchange
A refund for Change of Mind is not required or enforced by the ACCC or NSW Dept. Fair Trading - however, things happen when buying things online and Car Audio can be confusing at times. It's for that reason we have decided that we will offer a Change of Mind Store Credit, provided certain criteria are met.
1. Request must be made within 14-days of original purchase
2. Product is in Brand New condition and shows no signs of damage or use
3. Once received and verified, a store credit eGift Card will be issued
Similar to a Change of Mind, a Product Exchange works in the same way. The product must be reported to us within 14-days, and returned to us in Brand New condition. If there is a price difference between the products, higher or lower, the Bankstown Sound team will facilitate the refund, or payment of difference.
Your Responsibility
Modern car audio installation is a complex and complicated process. All products sold by Bankstown Sound are intended to be installed by experienced professionals. While DIY is possible, please understand that incorrect installation or mis-matching products, such as burning out an amplifier due to it being under powered for requirements, or over powering speakers causing them to fail, is not grounds for a Warranty or Refund Claim.
Shipping costs back to Bankstown Sound for Warranty or Return are yours unless explicitly advised by Bankstown Sound.
