More about the product

The Pioneer TS-VR170C Special Edition 17cm component speaker system is engineered for high-resolution audio reproduction in car sound systems. It features a dual-layer carbon fibre cone in the woofer, designed to deliver precise and responsive bass with reduced distortion. This material is lightweight yet rigid, helping maintain clarity even at higher volumes.

The system includes a 25 mm tweeter, which produces smooth and detailed high frequencies. The tweeter is designed to handle extended frequency ranges, making it suitable for high-resolution audio playback. Together, the woofer and tweeter cover a wide frequency response from 31 Hz to 65 kHz, allowing for full-spectrum sound reproduction.

An external crossover network is included to ensure seamless integration between the woofer and tweeter. This helps maintain tonal balance and accurate imaging, especially in complex musical passages. The crossover is compact, making installation easier in tight spaces.

The TS-VR170C has a sensitivity rating of 90 dB and supports up to 300 watts peak power (100 watts nominal). It is a passive system and requires external amplification for optimal performance. The tweeters can be flush-mounted or surface-mounted, offering flexibility depending on the vehicle’s interior layout.

This model is part of Pioneer's Special Edition range, developed in collaboration with Japanese audio engineers. It is tuned for natural sound reproduction, focusing on clarity and realism rather than exaggerated bass or loudness. The design prioritises acoustic performance, with no wireless or smartphone connectivity features included.

Installation requires basic speaker wiring and mounting hardware, which is provided. The system is best suited for users upgrading from factory speakers who want a noticeable improvement in sound quality without moving into ultra-premium territory.
